Why 6 per sheet laser labels for duct?
Did you ever wonder why you use 6-label per sheet for duct labels on your plasma table? Banner Sales has been at the forefront of label technology in the HVAC industry for over 35 years. We’ve developed and tested many formats and sizes for duct identification. To date, the 6-label per sheet is the most economical method.
Originally, the labels were 5 x 2 15/16” pin-fed labels. That gives the label about 14.5” of surface area to put information. In developing a laser labels to work seamlessly with newer technology, we knew the size we had to work with. Laser sheets should be symmetrical. In order to keep the information on the label, we devised the 6 label system which clocks in at 14.15 sqin.
One of the great things that we do on the labels is take away the margin between labels and on the sides. There is still a margin at the top and bottom of the sheet, but that is in “no man’s land” where the printer won’t print. By taking away the margins, we increased the surface area of each label. It isn’t much but if you have ever had your printer pull a sheet through a little crooked, you can see the value in that little area being available. It also lets you squeeze a little more information on the label if needed.
These 6-label per sheet are designed to run in both laser and ink-jet printers and are made in our own factory just outside of New Orleans. We ship to every state and numerous countries. The material is virgin paper – you don’t want recycled paper for labels – and made with a special blend of fibers to ensure that the sheets lay flat. We’ve been doing this for over 35 years, we are the experts in duct labeling.
